Your friend has been murdered, and he left you a map with the location of two shipwrecks marked on it. Your goal is to to recover the sunken treasure from one of the wrecks while at the same time trying to keep from being double-crossed by other people on Hardscrabble Island. Cutthroats is unique in that it has two separate endings. Partway through the game it is indicated that you must dive to one of the two wrecks found on your map. You win the game by salvaging that one wreck. The next time you play, you can go back and salvage the other, which has a completely different set of puzzles.
